Cythian Bear Pendant

Cythians or Scyths were horse-riding nomads originally of Iranian stock, who dominated the northern steppes of the Black Sea.

Cythian art represented their common life, warfare and popular games, sports and so on. A significant place in cythian art was occupied by the images of wild animals (lions, snow leopards, panthers, indomitable horses) representing the Cyth's dominance over his domain.
